Job Description
Are you looking to work in a cutting-edge research environment and contribute to the development of an innovative platform? Join us as a Research Engineer for the Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Platform at the iRCM!
Your Responsibilities
Platform Administration and Management:
You will manage and oversee the flow cytometry and cell sorting platform.
You will provide expert support for experiments and/or analyses entrusted to you.
You will advise, assist, and train users on various sorting and analysis systems.
Liaison with Technical Services:
You will serve as the point of contact with instrument and software manufacturers, particularly with their after-sales service and application teams.
Platform Monitoring and Development:
You will monitor the platformās activities and actively participate in its development.
You will implement procedural improvements in alignment with a future accreditation process.
You will contribute to the development of the platformās expertise in multidimensional data analysis.
Scientific Monitoring and Networking:
You will conduct scientific and technological monitoring in relevant areas.
You will engage in professional networks for the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
Platform Governance:
You will draft and enforce the platformās user regulations.
You will establish and uphold health and safety procedures.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a candidate with an Engineering Degree, Masterās Degree, or PhD in Science, preferably in Biology, Instrumentation, or Bioinformatics. A strong theoretical and practical knowledge of flow cytometry and biology is essential to support users effectively and to carry out experimental and analytical work within a research setting.
Proficiency in data acquisition and analysis software is crucial for the role. Additionally, strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English are required to collaborate with teams and partners, draft reports, and deliver user training.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical and synthesis skills, necessary for managing projects and developing efficient technical protocols. A high level of technical precision and a strong sense of organization are also essential for managing the platform and overseeing experimental tasks.
