šŸ“„ Job Description

The Institut Paoli-Calmettes (IPC) and the Cancer Research Center Marseille (CRCM) are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a collaborative research project focused on multi-omic characterization of relapsed and resistant Acute Myeloid Leukemia (rrAML) for advanced biomarker and therapeutic development.

This position is available in the research group of S. Garciaz, MD, Ph.D. (Head of the Early Trial Unit), in close collaboration with the Leuko-Stromal Interactions team led by M. Aurrand-Lions, the IPC drug development unit co-led by T. Miller, the Marseille Proteomics Platform (MAP) and Bioinformatics core facilities.

The successful candidate will lead a project focused on mapping the combined transcriptome and surface proteome of rrAML with respect to key driver mutations and acquired drug resistance. The project will specifically consist of: single-cell transcriptomic sample creation, data acquisition and analysis, cell surface protein labeling method development, and proteomic analyses (in collaboration with the MAP).

Experiments will be carried out using AML patient cells and xenograft models.

šŸ“„ Candidate Profile

Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Fellow will:

• Design and execute experiments using state-of-the-art single-cell genomic and transcriptomic approaches (e.g., 10X Genomics and/or Tapestri) and proteomic techniques.

• Process and analyze complex biological data, working in close collaboration with the proteomic and bioinformatics core facilities.

• Work with primary human AML patient cells and relevant ex vivo models.

• Present research findings at lab meetings, institutional seminars, and international conferences.

• Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Hold a Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences (or equivalent) at the start of the contract.

• A strong background in Immunology or Onco-Hematology is necessary. All relevant profiles will be considered, but experience in these fields is highly valued.

• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.

Desired/Highly Appreciated

• Prior experience with single-cell RNA sequencing methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with advanced laboratory techniques, including cytometry and biochemistry.

• Computational skills in data analysis, particularly using R Studio or Seurat for single-cell data.

Contract Details and Career Development

• Initial Funding: 18 months CDD.

• Start Date: Dec 2025
